The Nature of Water

  • Settled in the late part of the 1700’s
  • this town was later chartered in 1824.
  • Named in honor of water, one element
  • people cannot live without.
  • Once a bustling place with two hotels,
  • mills, factories, blacksmiths, a sash shop,
  • which offered places to work and thrive.
  • Just under 1000 feet above sea level,
  • this little town lies deep in the valley
  • between Green Mountains, at the
  • north branch of The Lamoille River.
  • Folks here strive to survive and
  • enjoy the serene country life.
